The MAU (Museum of Urban Art) was founded in 1995 by a spontaneous initiative of the residents of Borgo Campidoglio, who made the facades of the houses available to create the first murals. Subsequently, since 2000, the project was structured by Edoardo Di Mauro, Director of the MAU and the Accademia Albertina. Today the MAU is the only museum in Italy dedicated entirely to Public Art, it has 180 works in the Capitol and another 90 scattered since 2014 in other areas of Turin, and fully demonstrates how art represents a factor of urban and social requalification. The visit on 18 July coincides with the inauguration of the ‘Arte in Vetrina’ exhibition which involves the artist studios present in Borgo Campidoglio.
